How to calculate CGPA?

CGPA is referred to as a cumulative grade point average. It was introduced in the CCE or Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation System for Class X.

CGPA calculation is not essential as it is mentioned on the CBSE 10th mark sheet and report card.

Students can calculate the CGPA by following the instructions given below:

  • Add the scored grade points of all five subjects.
  • After adding the grade points, divide the number by 5.

For example: your grade points for 5 subjects respectively= 9,8,8,9,8

Total= (9+8+8+9+8) = 42

Now average grade = 42/5

CGPA = 8.4

CGPA to Percentage Calculation

The students who want to calculate the percentage of how much they received in the exam can follow the below steps.

To calculate the percentage, multiply the CGPA with 9.5 to get the overall indicative percentage. The CBSE disclaims that the percentage is only an approximation and not an exact percentage.

For example: If you got 8.4 CGPA and want to check the percentage.

So percentage = 8.4 X 9.5 = 79.8

Check out the below CGPA to Percentage chart to know your percentage fast.
