Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) has finally released a huge employment notice on their official website. According to CEN RRC-01/2019 notification, online registration of applications has been started, and candidates can submit Group D Level 1 Application Form till 12-04-2019 at 23:59 hrs.

RRC Level-I (Group D) Recruitment is for posts like Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Mechanical, Electrical, and S&T departments), Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Assistant Pointsman and Level-I posts in other departments.

Age Limit: The age of the candidate must be between 18 to 33 years as on 01-07-2019. The relaxation in upper age limit/maximum upper age is subject to submission of requisite certificates. Check official notification for more details.

Educational Qualification: The applicants should have passed 10th class or ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

Application Fee: Applicant’s need to pay the following fee through online mode (Internet banking or debit/credit card or UPI) or through offline mode (SBI Challan payment mode in any branch of SBI or Post Office Challan payment mode in any branch of Computerized Post Office).

RRC Group D Selection Process

The RRC Group D Selection Process includes three stages. The candidates must pass all the stages to get a job in the Indian Railways.

  • Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Document Verification (DV)

Railway Group D Exam Pattern for CBT

The RRC Level-I Group D exam pattern for Computer Based Test is listed as below:

There will be negative marking for the wrong answer, and 1/3 of the marks will be deducted.

The category-wise minimum qualifying marks of CBT are as under.

  • General: 40%
  • OBC (Non-creamy layer): 30%
  • SC: 30%
  • ST: 30%

These percentages of marks can be relaxed by 2% for PWD candidates in case of shortage of PWD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.

RRC Group D Exam Question Type and Syllabus:

The Questions in the RRC Group D exam will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions pertaining to:

  • Mathematics Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
  • General Intelligence and reasoning: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
  • General Science: The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE).
  • General Awareness on current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subject of importance.
